ABOUT ME

I’m Chris (he/him), a Registered Psychologist working with folks across Canada. I’m passionate about my work in psychology and bring extensive experience in counselling, psychological assessment, and research. My roles have included work with public and private schools (e.g., Calgary Board of Education, Third Academy), the University of Calgary, nonprofit organizations and charities (e.g., Skipping Stone Foundation, Distress Centre Calgary), as well as in private practice. Currently, my focus is on providing both individual and group therapy.

I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship creates a safer space for healing and exploration. Much of the harm we experience happens within relationships, and the therapeutic relationship can offer the support, safety, and connection necessary for repair. Therapy provides a judgment-free environment where we can explore all aspects of ourselves. I am confident that together we can ensure you receive the support you need and deserve. My practice involves using a range of therapeutic approaches tailored to your unique experiences and needs.

MY BACKGROUND

I was born and raised in Calgary, and I’ve also had the opportunity to live in Nova Scotia, Japan, and Scotland. One of my favourite calming and peaceful places is the beach, in particular the one pictured here in Scotland. In my downtime, I enjoy a variety of hobbies, including cooking, baking, hiking, ikebana (Japanese flower arranging), napping, playing pinball, and making pottery.

I also love watching TV and movies—recently, I've enjoyed The Rehearsal and The Last of Us—as well as playing video games, reading, and trying new foods and restaurants. I strive to balance my time between solitude and socializing with friends. I acknowledge my status as a settler and identify as a white, cisgender, gay male. Traveling is another passion of mine, and some of my most memorable trips have been to South Africa, Argentina, and Indonesia.
